Latrell Mitchell will not be sanctioned by the NRL following his X-rated radio interview after South Sydney’s loss to Brisbane on Thursday night.

Mitchell dropped the f-bomb five times while speaking to Triple M, at one point admitting: “I don’t care if I swear, guys.”

According to the Sydney Morning HeraldNRL chief executive Andrew Abdo contacted South Sydney boss Blake Solly to arrange a meeting with Mitchell this week to discuss his conduct.

However, the full-back is not flagged for a foul for the outburst.

Souths will also not punish Mitchell for the interview, which has been viewed more than 160,000 times on Triple M’s Instagram page.

“We encourage players to be themselves and be authentic,” Abdo said. ‘But they also know that they are professionals and role models and that means they have to set a good example.

“When we speak to fans through media interviews, we have a responsibility to be respectful.”

Mitchell has been in the spotlight over the past week, with the NRL also deciding not to take action against him for being caught up in the racism row that saw Spencer Leniu handed an eight-match ban for calling Ezra Mam a ‘monkey’ .

Under the code of conduct, NRL players are not allowed to comment on active legal cases before they are concluded, but Mitchell took to Instagram to call for a ban of at least eight to 12 weeks.

Still, the NRL is expected to warn Mitchell about his behavior and remind him of his responsibilities as a professional football player.
