Latrell Mitchell has told the football world to ‘move on’ from his expletive-laden post-match interview last week, insisting there was no malice behind his comments.
Mitchell has been asked to meet NRL CEO Andrew Abdo after swearing four times live on Triple M following South Sydney’s defeat to Brisbane last Thursday evening.
The Bunnies superstar is expected to avoid any sanction for the bizarre interview, which saw his Rabbitohs teammates jokingly introduce a swear jar into the dressing room.
Captain Cameron Murray advised Mitchell to be more selective in his language and in response to a Fox League report detailing his captain’s comments, the full-back had his say.
‘There was no intent. No malice. Let’s move on. Great week ahead. Friday night lights,” he posted on Instagram stories.

The Rabbitohs have taken matters into their own hands and set up an internal curse pool to help players keep each other in line.
“Trell has a few bucks to spend after the weekend,” said Souths recruit Jack Wighton.
‘Of course he shouldn’t have said it so often, but a slip of the tongue.
‘Maybe I’ll be in there (the curse jar) a few times if you listen at training!’
Murray shrugged off the incident as the Rabbitohs looked ahead to Friday’s grudge match against the Sydney Roosters.
“I didn’t see much wrong with it,” he said.
“I know he’s a passionate man and I know he just wants to win. They’re two pretty good qualities that I think Latrell has and things I’ll always stand behind.
‘Trell is Trell and I think what we do very well at this club is empower people to be themselves. I know that if he had his time again, he would probably be a little more selective in the words he chose.”
