The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha will begin on June 24, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has completed the formalities of government formation and swearing-in ceremony has been completed.
Mohan Charan Majhi of the BJP will be sworn in as the chief minister of Odisha today. The ceremony is likely to feature Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a number of Union ministers and chief ministers of several BJP-ruled states. Besides the VVIPs, around 30,000 people are expected to attend the event to be held at Janata Maidan. TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu will also take oath as Andhra Pradesh chief minister today, marking his fourth term in the role. Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony are underway at Gannavaram Mandal, Kesarapalli IT Park. Prime Minister Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda will participate in the oath-taking ceremony along with other leaders.
