Las Vegas teacher sobs as she shares her students’ heartbreaking Christmas wishes – including one who asked for a ‘bag of chips so I won’t feel hungry’ and another who wants ‘slippers to protect me from the cold’
A teacher has broken down in tears after sharing her pupils' heartbreaking Christmas wishes.
Cheri Guy, an English teacher at Desert Pines High School, Las Vegas, took to TikTok with the candid clip.
She read out some wishes, including a “bag of chips so I'm not hungry” and “slippers to protect me from the cold.”
And other social media users quickly flooded the comments with their support.

In the clip, which has been viewed more than 90,000 times so far, Cheri sat in an office as she addressed her followers.
She started, “Okay, I'm going to try to get through this without getting emotional…
“I don't want people to think I'm trying to do this for any reason other than I work at a school where they have a wishlist program, and they just sent out the kids' wishlist spreadsheet.
'And they not only say what they want, but also why they think it is important, and then you can sign up.'
Cheri explained that there were more than 3,000 students at the school as she urged viewers to help.
Choking back tears, she read through the list: 'So I start at the top.
'SSomeone said they only wanted to make one wish. This person said that all wishes must be fulfilled.
“They didn't ask for anything, they just wanted everyone…”

Dozens of viewers were quick to show their support, as one wrote: 'Count me in. I would like to help. I was one of those kids myself.”
She paused before continuing, “Anyway, slippers. I would like a pair of black slippers to protect my feet from the cold.
'A guitar. I mean, yeah, that's a little pricey, but it tells me it'll make me happy since I played guitar in high school.
“I'm literally dying.”
Cheri shed a tear as she continued, “A bag of Takis. They literally say, they want a bag of Takis, and their reason is that it will help me not go hungry.
'Another? My only wish. I want my sister to be happy on her birthday. It's December 5th. As?'
Other wishes included a Dutch Bros gift voucher, Manchester City scarf and Littlest Pet Shop airplane set.
Cheri becomes overwhelmed as she concludes, “I have to stop…
“Maybe we can do something to try to make some of these things happen, because that's impossible even if all the teachers, phurt a student we couldn't cover everything.
“There are so many students, and they don't want much.”

Cheri has since shared it Today: 'We have a lot of children who are in the foster system, we have a lot of children who live in poverty.
'These children face enormous stress outside the classroom.
“One of the most incredible things about Wishmas is that these children realize they are loved – and not just by the staff at school, but by strangers across the country (who) care about them and believe in them.”
Cheri explained that 950 students had signed up for the Wish List and 300 applications had already been fulfilled.
Desert Pines High School is part of the Clark County School District, which serves more than 315,787 students, 59 percent of whom are economically disadvantaged, according to figures. reports.
