Larsa Pippen finds herself DEFENDING her box braids: ‘I’m not white

Larsa Pippen found herself defending her box braids on The Real Housewives of Miami after Andy Cohen teased her if they were “culturally appropriate.”

The 48-year-old, who shares four children with ex-husband Scottie Pippen, said she herself had grandparents from Morocco.

“I mean, I’m not white,” said Larsa, whose mother came from Lebanon and whose father was originally from Syria.

She noted that ‘my mom used to wear braids’ and explained that she, Larsa, usually has her hair braided whenever she travels, according to People.

Kiki Barth, who guest-starred on the show as a ‘friend’ to the housewives and who is black, sided with Larsa, arguing that ‘we should just accept it’.

The hot conversation started when Andy noticed Larsa wearing box braids during a recent cast trip to the Bahamas.

“Fashion wise, you can pull it off, but do you think it’s culturally appropriate?” she asked. “I think you’re going to get a lot of criticism.”

Larsa pointed out that she is “not white” and revealed that her children have their hair professionally braided “every 10 days” by a woman who comes to her house.

She added that her and Scottie’s son, Justin, 18, now have braids and claimed she’s been sporting them “for literally the last four years.”

When the woman who braids her children’s hair comes up and says ‘I’m going on a trip, I don’t want to have to deal with my hair, I’ll have her braid my hair,’ Larsa said.

‘My grandparents are Moroccan. My mom had braids when she was little. I’ve braided my hair every time I’ve gone on vacation for as long as I can remember.

Larsa continued: ‘My honeymoon photos, my hair was braided. When I was 18 years old, my hair was braided. I have always worn braids when I travel.

Meanwhile, Kiki’s train of thought was: ‘I feel like anybody should rock whatever they want. As long as it looks good on you, I think we should accept it.

Over the course of the meeting, Larsa also addressed her controversial affair with Michael Jordan’s handsome son, Marcus, 32.

When the relationship took off late last year, Larsa’s ex-husband was feuding with the father of Marcus, her former teammate.

In late November, Larsa was attending a Chargers game with Marcus when a basketball fan interrupted her, saying, ‘Hey Larsa, is that what you doing? Are you with the boy, Mike’s son? You’re a cold son of a bitch, aren’t you?

Michael and Scottie were legendary teammates on the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, but their personal tensions were laid bare in the recent documentary series The Last Dance.

Adding fuel to the fire, Scottie criticized her performance on the show, complaining that she was “just a prop.”

Scottie further claimed that Michael did The Last Dance just to prove to the world that he is “even bigger than LeBron James,” who some basketball fans have called “the GOAT (greatest of all time).”

During the latest Real Housewives Of Miami reunion, Larsa said that she would indeed take Marcus’ last name if their romance led them to the altar.

She and Marcus aren’t engaged at the moment, but “I would definitely change my last name to whoever I marry, that’s for sure.”
