Gold Logie Award winner Larry Emdur has had an AVO deployed to protect him just days after winning the grand prize.

New South Wales Police have issued a warrant on behalf of Emdur for Rodney Pearce from Victoria.

New South Wales Police said officers were called to Network Seven’s Central Ave office in Sydney at approximately 11.15am on August 22 after Pearce attempted to enter the building.

“Officers from the South Sydney Police Area Command attended the scene and spoke to a 52-year-old man who had been escorted from the building by security,” New South Wales police said in a statement.

Mr Pearce was arrested and taken to hospital for a check-up before being taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

He was charged with trespassing and possession of a prohibited drug.

Pearce appeared at Downing Centre Magistrates’ Court where he was granted conditional bail. He is due to appear again on September 5.

His conditions include not being allowed on Central Avenue, in the suburb of Haymarket, or within 200 yards of Channel 7.

The 52-year-old must also report to Redfern police station every day.

Court records show that the AVO for Emdur’s protection will be called in court on September 16.

The arrest came just days after Emdur took home the top prize at the Logies 2024 on August 18.

In the run-up to the awards, Emdur told several news sources about his tattoo promise, as he was unsure whether he would win his first-ever Logie nomination.

After forty years on screen, the television personality took home the top prize.

But early on Monday morning, Bondi Ink tattooist Zach was waiting for the Logie winner in the studio, where he inked the tattoo live on television.

Presenter Kylie Gillies laughed along as Emdur got tattooed, telling the audience: ‘He’s really shaking’.

Network Seven declined to comment as the matter is still before the courts.
