The future of the cloud computing market will be closer together and more connected, resulting in a multi-cloud approach that is more beneficial to businesses around the world, Oracle founder claimed.
Speaking at Oracle Cloud World 2022 in a keynote addressing “next-generation cloud technology,” Larry Ellison outlined his vision for the future cloud market and called for an end to “walled gardens” to give businesses more freedom. give to choose and experience .
“There should be an internet of clouds,” he said, “the clouds should be interconnected and you should be able to mix and match multiple clouds…the garden walls are falling down.”

Ellison noted how many businesses and service providers currently need to deploy new infrastructure services across multiple clouds. However, he believes it’s a better idea to connect all major cloud services together to provide customers with choices – creating this ‘internet of clouds’ – or multi-cloud.
Oracle’s partnership with Microsoft helped kick-start this, Ellison noted, by helping to remove data input and output to improve adoption, he notes, meaning not only is accessing your data fast and free, but also much simpler.
The company has announced that its Oracle MySQL HeatWave database tools are now available for Microsoft Azure, once again offering its users the options they need to get the most out of their data.
“The idea is, again, to offer customers choices,” concluded Ellison. “That’s the most important thing (and) I believe that eventually all clouds will be connected and the customers will have the choice.”
