Lara Trump says her father-in-law Donald Trump’s mugshot will be on posters and flags of ‘people who love this country’

Lara Trump has predicted that her father-in-law Donald Trump’s mugshot will appear on posters, dormitories and flags owned by “people who love this country.”

The former president will be taken to Atlanta’s Fulton County Jail on Thursday after being charged in Georgia over his alleged role in overturning the 2020 election.

He and 18 other defendants were indicted on August 14 by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on RICO and other charges.

Lara, who is married to his son Eric Trump, said it’s ridiculous to think someone as famous as Trump would need a mug shot. She believes it is intended to embarrass the former president, but believes it will backfire and the image will be used as a show of support.

It comes after the judge presiding over the former president’s case ruled that cameras will be allowed in the courtroom for his arraignment — that’s when defendants enter a plea, and it will likely happen after Labor Day.

Lara appeared on Newsmax Wednesday to discuss her father-in-law’s arraignment in Atlanta on Thursday.

Host Rob Schmitt said, “I’m really curious to see what he’s going to do with this mugshot.

“I think he should just smile from ear to ear like the biggest middle finger of it all.”

She replied, “It is absurd to think that Donald Trump, one of the most famous people in the world, if not the most famous in the world, would ever need one.

“But we know the purpose of this ad is to embarrass him in some way.”

Lara thinks about Trump’s mug shot will gather supporters and motivate people to vote for him in the upcoming presidential elections.

“But I think it’s going to backfire on them like everything else,” she added.

“It gets on posters and in people’s dormitories. It will be on t-shirts. It will be a flag raised by people who love this country because they support Donald Trump.

“They understand how important this is. They understand how absurd all this is. And that is exactly why they will rally behind him and vote for him in 2024.”

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee on Tuesday granted a request to allow four local television stations to bring cameras and recording equipment into his courtroom until Sept. 8.

His order did not specify whether the cameras would be allowed during the trial.

District Attorney Willis is considering holding charges for all defendants the week after Labor Day, he said The hill.

It would be the first time any of Trump’s criminal cases have been broadcast on world television.

Trump called Willis “an out-of-control and highly corrupt prosecutor” and said the allegations were part of a “witch hunt.”

The case – based on RICO laws typically used to bring down gangsters – is the fourth case against the 77-year-old Republican this year and could mark a turning point: the first televised trial of a former president in the history of the United States. The United States.

John Dean, who served as counsel to Richard Nixon in the White House before turning on and testifying against him and helping bring him down, told CNN that the allegations against Trump were “much more serious than Watergate.”

Trump was indicted along with 18 others: Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman, Mark Meadows, Ken Cheseboro, Jeffrey Clark, Jenna Ellis, Ray Smith III, Robert Cheeley, Michael Roman, David Shafer, Shawn Still, Stephen Lee, Harrison Floyd, Trevian Kutti , Sidney Powell, Cathleen Latham, Scott Hall and Misty Hampton.

Willis said she wants to try them all at once. They have until noon on August 25 to turn themselves in, otherwise an arrest warrant will be issued.

There are also 30 ‘unindicted co-conspirators’: people accused of being part of the plot but who have not been named or charged.
