Millions of people are obsessed with a celebrity-approved lip balm that stars Gigi Hadid, Drew Barrymore, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley swear by — and it costs less than $20.

Lanolips is a cult classic from Australia and its bestseller, the 101 Ointment ($18.95), has been voted ‘the best lip balm in the world’ by multiple outlets and has won numerous beauty awards.

Dubbed the ‘ultimate holy grail’, the product contains ultra-pure Australian lanolin, which mimics human oils and is often referred to as ‘Nature’s Wonder Moisturiser’.

Gigi Hadid called the budget product one of her top “post-pregnancy skin secrets” after her daughter’s birth.

The 29-year-old model and mother said she used The Original 101 Ointment Multipurpose Superbalm from Lanolips on her lips, cheekbones, on the tip of her nose and even at the edge of her eyebrows.

‘I like to moisturize my lips after skin care and before I start makeup, then it can sit on your lips throughout your routine so that when you get to the lipstick at the end, it has been on for a while’ , Gigi said Fashion in 2021. ‘This is called the 101 Ointment, but it’s for everything.’

‘I think that’s exactly where my eyebrows end, that’s where I get really dry. I don’t know why, but I like to dab it there sometimes,” she said. “I just think eyebrow products like pencil and stuff apply better [after using it].’

The brand has also relaunched their best-selling 101 Ointment Superbalm with real fruit extract.

The 101 Fruities are available in the flavors watermelon, mint, strawberry, coconut, peach, green apple and pear.

Former Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also said: ‘Lanolips is a really cool brand from Australia and it contains an ingredient found in sheep’s wool. It is one of the most hydrating, natural nutrients available.

‘They extract the lanolin from sheep’s wool and turn it into an incredible line of lip and body care products. Great for dry lips, dry skin, dry nasal passages… maybe when you’re flying,” she revealed in a YouTube video about her skincare routine.

Kirsten Carriol’s Lano brand is now a global success, with models including Linda Evangelista and blogger Chloe Morello raving about the purchase.

Ms Carriol previously revealed that her upbringing on a sheep farm with her father, a DNA scientist, gave her the idea to use lanolin in beauty.

Lanolin, found in sheep’s wool, is ultra-hydrating because it mimics the skin’s natural oils and locks in moisture.

Although the product was originally designed to moisturize the lips, it can also be used for cuticles, flaky skin and dry heels and elbows.

The ointment is also 100 percent natural, vegetarian and retains 200 percent of its weight in moisture.

“I have rough, chapped lips all the time. Nothing worked until my daughter told me to try Lanolips. After the first use my lips were completely healed! I am sold, I will never use a lip balm again,” said one customer.

“So glad I bought this lip salve, it’s so cute and the scent is incredible,” another added. ‘My lips feel fresh after use and it’s super shiny when I apply it.’

“Holy grail – I’ve tried dozens of lip balms but none are as good as this,” one person wrote. “The only one I’ll ever buy.”

This multi-purpose balm is suitable for even the most delicate, sensitive skin, and some also claimed that the soothing balm was allergy-friendly.

‘I love this product! I’m allergic to pretty much every lip salve out there, but Lanolin saves my lips and heals them,” one woman revealed.

Australians can find the popular purchase on the Lano website, in-store or online at Sephora, Mecca, Priceline and more.

For best results, simply warm the ointment between your fingers and gently pat it onto your skin.
