A nine-year-old girl has died after being thrown from a quad bike in a horrific crash along a bike path.

An off-road quad was driving on a circuit at Langford Park in Jarrahdale, about 45km south-east of Perth, when it rolled around 5pm on Saturday.

The young girl, who was a passenger on the vehicle, was seriously injured after being thrown from the bicycle. She died on the spot.

The 34-year-old male rider was rushed to Armadale Hospital with minor injuries.

The police has urged anyone who saw the bicycle riding in the run-up to the accident or who had more information to come forward.
