A car filled with bags of concrete has been discovered buried in the backyard of a multimillion-dollar Silicon Valley mansion, baffling police.
Landscapers working on the $15 million luxury home yesterday morning discovered the car 5 feet deep in the ground in Atherton in San Mateo County, one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country.
Police believe the car was buried in the 1990s when it belonged to previous owners.
The current homeowner, who bought the house in 2020, was unaware that the car was in the ground and the registered owner of the vehicle is under investigation, although their identity has not been revealed.
Cadaver dogs warned of the presence of possible human remains, but according to Atherton Police Commander Daniel Larsen, none were found more than 12 hours after the car was found.
