Lana Del Rey has made her first official statement about her whirlwind wedding to Jeremy Dufrene.
At the InStyle Imagemaker Awards Thursday night, the 39-year-old music artist told a red carpet reporter about her union with the 49-year-old alligator swamp guide: “It’s good. We are happy.’
She made the short statement with a dreamy smile on her face as she arrived in a layered, white, sparkly Valentino dress and matching fur scarf.
Del Rey shocked fans when news broke on September 26 that she had tied the knot with the Louisiana-based guide.
The singer previously broke her silence about their romance in a comment on an Instagram fan account.

On @LanaBoards she wrote: “Unfortunately, a local couple from Houma won’t stop flying drones into our windows every morning and following us with a tracker.”
The artist, born Elizabeth Grant, continued: “But if Sara Michelle Champagne and Kruesch (a famous New Orleans paparazzi) could stop switching vehicles to follow the family – and stop following us through remote parts of the country and photoshopping my wedding ring into a pearl – I know we’d feel a lot safer.”
She added, “That said, Jeremy is the one and only. And great. And we are very happy.’
Del Rey and Dufrene married in an intimate waterfront ceremony in Des Allemands, Louisiana, just a month after going public with their romance, and five years after they first met.
After the ceremony, Jeremy’s ex-fiancée revealed she was blindsided by his and Lana’s wedding.
She said she learned he had walked down the aisle when she was shown photos the next morning.
Kelli Welsh, who was engaged to Dufrene for 12 years before they split in October 2023, told DailyMail.com she was “shocked” at how quickly they said, “Yes, I do.”
“I’m in shock because we were engaged for 12 years and he got married after a month,” she said.

Del Rey and Dufrene married in an intimate waterfront ceremony in Des Allemands, Louisiana, just a month after going public with their romance, and five years after they first met.
She added, “But I’m happy for him. He is a very protective, hardworking, masculine man. He had to get out of his comfort zone. He was used to life in the bayou and the swamp. He deserves this blessing.”
Welsh and Dufrene started dating as teenagers when she was 16 and he was 19, but they split after a year.
He subsequently married his first wife Gina, with whom he shares three children: two sons and a daughter.
Within a year of the marriage ending, he ended up back with Welsh.
