Lamine Yamal’s father says his son is not worried about Sunday’s match against England in the Euro 2024 final and expects Spain to win 3-0.
Speaking to ITV News in Yamal’s hometown of Rocafonda, Spain, father Mounir Nasraoui believes his son will make a ‘big mark’ on the match against the Three Lions.
He described his son as a man with ‘integrity’ and ‘joy’ and expressed his pride that his son is the youngest player ever to take part in a European Championship.
“Hopefully he makes his mark,” Nasraoui said in the interview. “But I would like everyone to make their mark if it means taking the cup home. You have to think about the team, not just the individual players,”
‘There is no middle ground, but playing as a group and supporting each other as a group, that is the most important thing.

Father Mounir Nasraoui expressed his pride for his son before predicting a Spanish victory
The teenage prodigy, who turns 17 on Saturday, has become the tournament’s star player, with his incredible goal in the semi-final against France making him the youngest player ever to score at a European Championship.
His father confirmed his belief that La Rojas “will definitely win” and said the score would be “3-0”, but he does not know if Yamal will score.
The Barcelona winger also received plaudits for his match-winning performances, providing three assists for the Spanish national team – currently the joint-most at Euro 2024.
When asked what he thought of his son’s impact on the European Championship, Nasraoui replied: ‘It’s incredible, he’s a good strategist. It’s an honour to see that as a father and as a human being.’
“He’s a guy who has everything under control. He focuses on other, more important things, because life… personal well-being is the most important thing,” he added.
“He is a happy boy, and whatever happens, he is proud and in a good mood, that’s the most important thing.”
He said his son is his “big dream” and that he always knew Yamal would become a “star.”
He explained: ‘As a father, I could clearly feel that he… I could always see that he was a star. Through my own eyes, he is a star to me.’

And he said Yamal has had the same impact regardless of football: ‘I don’t know about others, but for me he has always been a star. Not just in football, but in general.’
A photo of baby Yamal, his mother and Lionel Messi recently went viral after Nasraoui posted the photo on Instagram with the caption, “The beginning of two legends.”
He now hopes his son will emulate the heroics of Yamal’s idol and take Spain home to the European Championship.
