Lamine Yamal breaks ANOTHER record as the Barcelona teenager shines in El Clasico – before insisting his side are ‘the best team in the world’
Barcelona star Lamina Yamal broke another record as his side came up against rivals Real Madrid in El Clasico.
Hansi Flick’s side dominated their oldest rivals on Saturday evening as they won the final episode of the match 4-0, leaving the Bernabéu in shock as Madrid were condemned to their first defeat of the season.
With the match 0-0 at halftime, the visitors turned it on in the second half, with Robert Lewandowski scoring twice, Yamal adding a third and Raphinha rounding off the scoring six minutes from time.
It was a match that may have left more questions than answers when it comes to the future of both clubs, but no one is scratching their heads when it comes to winger Yamal’s abilities.
After scoring in one of the most highly anticipated matches of the season, he once again wrote his name in history as he became the youngest ever scorer in El Clasico at 17 years and 105 days.

The teenage sensation broke the record of Ansu Fati, who scored against Madrid in 2020 at 17 years and 359 days.
The goal came in Yamal’s fourth taste of the match after bursting onto the scene as a 16-year-old last season, but Saturday was the first time he had scored in the draw.
The record is just the latest in a long list that Yamal, born in July 2007, has broken.
He is the youngest player to start a LaLiga match when he featured for Barça against Cadiz in the 2023/2024 season, at the age of 16 years and 38 days old. And just a few days later he became the youngest player to provide an assist in LaLiga.
He is also the youngest Barca player to debut in the Champions League, the youngest starter in the history of the Champions League, the youngest player to register a Champions League assist and the youngest player to win a major international trophy.
There are a number of other records Yamal has broken listed on the Barcelona club website, including youngest player ever to play in the Champions League knockouts and youngest player to play in a European Championship final .
He is expected to go on and achieve a lot in his career, having already won the European Championship with Spain last summer.

The winger also has no shortage of confidence. “We believe we are the best team in the world,” he said after the win over Madrid. “They said we only beat normal teams, now we beat Real Madrid 4-0 at home.”
“We’ve proven that we can beat anyone.”
