Lamborghini Urus driver, 22, is yanked out of $300,000 SUV seconds before it explodes into flames and kills female passenger, 21: Supercar hits subway pillar while trying to overtake in NYC

A 22-year-old driver of a Lamborghini Urus was pulled from his $300,000 SUV seconds before it exploded in a huge ball of flames, instantly killing a 21-year-old female passenger.

Before the fireball, the driver was on 10th Avenue, under an elevated subway track near 213th Street. He crashed into a pillar while trying to maneuver past another vehicle.

Footage posted online shows three New York City police officers running to the vehicle and pulling the injured man from the driver's seat.

As officers attempt to reach the passenger side of the vehicle, the supercar bursts into flames as officers take cover.

The unnamed 21-year-old passenger died and the driver was taken to hospital where he was in critical condition.

Jordan Armstrong posted the video of the fiery crash on the Citizen app. In the footage, Armstrong says: 'What the f***?' as the sound of a commuter subway passes by.

A woman, who was also watching the dramatic footage, angrily replies, “Holy Crap… Oh my God… Is that person dead?”

A female witness said they saw a person's leg sticking out of the Lamborghini, but said it was so “disturbing” that they ran away before the car caught fire. The daily news reported.

Some people wondered if the Lamborghini was eluding police when it crashed, given that officers arrived quickly. NYPD officials did not respond to this report in a timely manner.

The driver of the Lamborghini was transported to Harlem Hospital in critical condition. He has not yet been charged, but police are still investigating.

The 37-year-old man driving the Hyundai Elantra that was overtaken by the Lamborghini was also taken to Harlem Hospital. He suffered minor injuries and was in stable condition, officials said.
