The 43-year-old former NBA star spoke with TMZ founder Harvey Levin about his battle with addiction, his marriage to Khloe Kardashian, and much more.

Below, we break down the biggest reveals from the hour-long special.

Lamar’s doctors didn’t think he would walk again after a brothel overdose

After signing Khloe Kardashian’s divorce papers, Odom headed to the Bunny Ranch, a legal brothel outside Las Vegas, where he was eventually found unconscious.

“All my doctors that were around me when… when the incident happened, like a walking miracle,” Odom said.

“When I came out of it, I was never supposed to walk or talk again,” the NBA star said.

Getting to know Khloe Kardashian

Lamar had been playing for the Los Angeles Lakers for nearly a decade when, in 2009, he went to a party thrown by his new teammate Ron Artest.

“Ron Artest was welcoming to the LA party, I was sitting like a VIP…I was there with another woman, a really hot woman, and I see this girl,” Odom began.

“I recognize Rob Kardashian, but I didn’t know who Khloé was at the time. I [let her know] who was I and it’s crazy because after 30 days, we would be married. That’s scary,’ Odom admitted.

Praises to Kris Jenner

When Levin asked how Kris Jenner treated her, Odom revealed, “I used to call her mom.” She showed a lot of love. she was great. I love her. We all got into the business. It was a family business, you know that, Harvey.

‘I’m comfortable enough [for her to be my manager]. I’m happy enough to do it. … I made some money. I came out positive,” she added.

Odom continued: “I don’t think people really give them credit for their family dynamic. The family is going to go through shit and I think they’ve handled it phenomenally well.”

Recording of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the spin-off of Khloe & Lamar

Khloe & Lamar debuted on E! in April 2011, a year and a half after they were married in September 2009 after only a month of dating.

“I was an incredible basketball player, but I know that marrying Khloé Kardashian gives me relevance in so many ways in the world of entertainment,” Odom said.

‘I knew what I signed up for. He was doing business with my wife. It’s her business, so I’m making it my business,” she added.

Odom added that the Los Angeles Lakers were “very supportive” of the show and even asked Lakers legend Kobe Bryant about it.

‘He was like, ‘You know, if you bring it, [we] I don’t care.” And I ended up winning the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award, so I knew he respected him a lot… That was the happiest I’ve ever been in my adult life… She got to give me everything I wanted,’ Odom said.

Lamar’s return to drugs… and telling Khloe

Odom was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Dallas Mavericks, though he did not perform well, revealing that he was in a “dark place” after his cousin’s death in 2011.

He slipped back into drug use, saying during the special, ‘Drugs: that was my girlfriend. She had a wife and cocaine.

He said he finally told Khloe about his drug use, adding: “You can’t hide that forever.” … She was hurt, but Khloé was a good wife. She was not dismissive or [saying], ‘Get away from me.’ …She was protective and she wanted to protect me even more. She [stood by me]. I mean behind the scenes, I put her through some shit. Like shit you guys don’t know. … The stories that you guys don’t know are really crazy.

A Woman He Cheated With Called Khloe Because She Thought Odom Was Going To Kill Himself

Along with his drug addictions, Odom was also dealing with addiction to sex, both of which often converged.

He revealed: “Like what, what could I really tell Khloe to leave her for a couple of hours to even leave her to go drugs with some random woman.”

“Where the woman, I’m getting so heavy on drugs, the woman actually gets into my phone and calls Khloe. Like, “Hey, you have to come get him. He’s freaking out. He’s going to kill himself.” Hey? And they took me to get help that night,” Odom revealed.

Lamar reveals that Kris Jenner told him Khloe would be in SoulCycle

Two years after Khloe initially filed for divorce from Odom, the basketball player was photographed watching Khloe outside of SoulCycle, eventually leading to accusations that he was “stalking” her.

However, Odom admitted that he is “a bit confused”, “as far as I can remember, she wired me up to meet Khloé at SoulCycle.”

“I got there and she treated me like she didn’t know me, which was a bit painful. She was doing some kind of scene and then, like, the paparazzi showed up out of nowhere. So I’m hurt by that. Then I realized that I tried to get my hands on her or something, so I’m really hurt. I got a little defensive,” she added.

As Levin adds, it looked like Jenner “stuck him up,” Odom added, “What would you be cooking up? … What would you get out of it? Try to ruin me or make me not want to come back anymore or make people think of me in a certain way?

Lamar believes Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof tried to kill him the night he overdosed at the brothel.

The day Odom finally signed his divorce papers, he went to the Bunny Ranch in Crystal, Nevada, and revealed that he told them to put $75,000 on his credit card to keep it a secret that he was there.

Tox reports revealed that Odom had cocaine in his system, but he swears he did not use cocaine that night and alleges that Dennis Hof, the ranch owner who died in 2018, tried to kill him.

“That son of a bitch tried to kill me,” Odom says, though when Levin asks why he would want to kill him, Odom replies, “I don’t know, Harvey.” I dont know. This is only what I can tell you. I went there, I didn’t get high that night. I ended up with drugs in my system.

He added that he was only there for one night, adding: “There was only one night, as far as I’m concerned.” I got there… I had a drink. And I woke up three days later, ripping tubes out of my neck, not knowing how I got there. Unable to speak or… or walk.

Asked by Levin if he was “sure” he didn’t use any drugs the night he overdosed, Odom said: “As much as you’re sure, I’m a black man sitting across from you.”

Lamar’s relapse before finally getting clean

After recovering from his ordeal at the ranch, he ran into financial problems that led him to sell all three of his NBA championship rings.

‘That shows you how strong the addiction is. We see it all the time. In Hollywood, we see him fucking all the time. I’m just one of the lucky ones who didn’t drink,” Odom said.

He added his ‘love for life’ and wanting to say ‘Lord thank you for saving him’ has helped him get sober today.

“The idea of cocaine, as fast as I say it, is as fast as it crossed my mind to do it. I’m from the street, like, I don’t even know how a motherfucker can get mixed up with any cocaine with the shit that’s going on right now, all this fentanyl and stuff like that. It’s not even worth it,” he said.

Lamar would be open to a possible reconciliation with Khloe Kardashian

Odom revealed that Khloe was the only woman who made him feel “safe” enough to get married.

He said that “of course” he would like to reconcile with Khloe, but he doesn’t feel like he should approach her now.

‘I’m not a loser and I felt like I lost. I would love to take Khloé out to dinner. … [But] I’m too shy and I’m a Scorpio and I hate being told no or denied. I’m scared,’ she said.

Lamar on Khloe’s ex Tristan Thompson

Odom also opened up about Khloe’s most recent ex, Tristan Thompson, whom she dated on and off from 2016 until they finally split last year.

‘When she gets hurt, of course I hurt. I think what hurts me the most is that it is not up to me to protect her,” she said.

“I can only protect her if she says, ‘Lamar, I need your help with this,'” he added.

Lamar gets his NBA championship rings back…for free

Long after selling all three of his NBA Championship rings due to financial difficulties, a chance meeting with a Los Angeles Lakers fan led him to get the rings back for free.

“He’s like, ‘I’ve got the damn rings, bro. I’ve got to put them back where they belong,'” Odon said.

‘Like, what are you talking about, man? He was like, “damn championship ring.” That’s what she said. “Damn championship ring, bro.” You have to come get them,’ Odom explained with a smile.

“I was like, ‘when do you want me to buy them?'” Odom said, and when Levin asked if he had charged Odom for the rings, he said, “No. I… he gave them to me for free.

“That is why Lakers fans are the greatest fans of all time. It’s funny, I didn’t wear them as much when I had them. It’s crazy now that I always feel like they like to go with my… go with every outfit,” he said, flashing the rings to the camera.
