Lamar Jackson welcomes Odell Beckham Jr. to Baltimore with a FaceTime call

Does that mean you stay too? Lamar Jackson welcomes Odell Beckham Jr. in Baltimore on a FaceTime call after Ravens revealed a shocking one-year deal for a free agent wide receiver

Odell Beckham Jr. is already feeling the love in Baltimore after agreeing to a reportedly $18 million one-year deal with the Ravens on Sunday.

Beckham was also interested by the Jets, but decided to team up with star quarterback Lamar Jackson for the next phase of his career.

And it didn’t take long for the pair to connect, as Jackson posted a screenshot of a FaceTime conversation between the pair on his Instagram on Sunday night.

“SHEEEEESH,” Beckham responded in the comments.

As the Ravens add a three-time Pro Bowler in Beckham, Baltimore fans will also be greatly encouraged by Jackson’s communication with him.

The 2019 MVP revealed last month that he had requested a trade from the team as he grew increasingly frustrated with his contract situation.

Jackson was awarded the $32.4 million non-exclusive tag — which allowed him to negotiate with other teams — but there was no trade or free agency interest in him, as most teams have solidified their quarterback positions for next season.

The impasse between Jackson and the team is due to guaranteed money.

Additionally, if a team signed Jackson to an offer sheet that the Ravens refused to match, it would cost them two picks in the first round.

Even without Beckham’s arrival in Baltimore, it looked like Jackson would probably stay there, but he looks excited at the prospect of pitching to the Super Bowl LVI champion.

Aside from Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown, Jackson has never had a 1000 yard wide receiver in Baltimore (tight end Mark Andrews has also topped that mark). And the only Pro Bowl wideout he’s played with is a 36-year-old DeSean Jackson — nine years after he received the honor.

In fact, Jackson and Beckham have had multiple conversations about “working together and winning a Super Bowl with the Ravens,” according to the statement Jordan Schultz of the score.

Beckham announced that he had signed with the Ravens by posting a photo of his son, Zydn, wearing a purple Ravens Jackson jersey.

When he last played for the Rams, Beckham Jr. 27 catches for 305 yards and five touchdowns in just eight games after spending the first half of the season with the Cleveland Browns.

He added 288 yards and two touchdowns in the postseason as the Rams defeated the Bengals in the Super Bowl.
