Lamar Jackson somehow managed to catch his own pass during the AFC title game against the Kansas City Chiefs, even though fans were unimpressed with the Ravens quarterback.

With just under six minutes remaining before halftime, the 27-year-old threw a dart to left field on second-and-5 from his team’s own 18-yard line, but the pass was blocked by the Chiefs’ defensive linesmen before the ball went. straight up in the air.

Many would have given up on the play altogether, but Jackson continued the play, stealing a step on Chiefs players to beat them to the ball.

‘Ballfight in the air… and CAUGHT BY JACKSON! HE CAUGHT HIS OWN PASS!’ said CBS Sports commentator Jim Nantz.

“That’s one of the best plays I’ve ever seen!” added former Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo, who was also in the booth for Sunday’s game. “This will be 100 percent intercepted.”

Fans weren’t necessarily impressed with the play or Romo’s commentary, as the Ravens were down 14-7 at the time.

“Purdy would have participated in a TD. And the two-point conversion! LJ is weak,” one user tweeted.

‘Best play of all time? To score a few plays later?’ said someone else.

“Lamar is doing what Brady could never do,” Barstool Sports shared along with a photo and quote from his ex-wife and model Gisele Bundchen: “My husband can’t throw and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball that many times.”

One fan pointed out that Romo’s reaction reminded him of Super Bowl XLVI when Cris Collinsworth said Wes Welker “makes that catch 100 times out of 100,” and Al Michaels responded, “That must have been the 101st time.”

“I’m not sure Tony understands percentages,” another user wrote.

Before Sunday’s game, Jackson had a career 1-3 record against the Chiefs.

The last time he came out on top against Kansas City was in 2021.
