Lamar Jackson sets new NFL record in dominant Ravens Christmas Day win over the Texans
Lamar Jackson is officially the most productive quarterback in NFL history.
The Baltimore Ravens star broke the record for most career rushing yards by a quarterback on Christmas Day.
He got just enough to pass Michael Vick as the Ravens destroyed the host Houston Texans 31-2.
Jackson entered the game 86 yards behind Vick and collected 87 rushing yards in the game. That put him one meter past Vick at 6.110.
He set the milestone with a six-yard run midway through the third quarter. Earlier in the period, Jackson turned the game around with a 48-yard scoring run to make it 24-2 and put the game away.
“I was jogging,” Jackson said. ‘I didn’t have to do anything. Michael Vick, one of my favorite players. That’s just dope.’

Jackson played in the 102nd game of his seven-year career. Vick played in 143 games over 13 seasons.
The 27-year-old Jackson is in the middle of perhaps the best season of his career.
He has already set career highs in passing touchdowns (39), total touchdowns (43) and passing yards (3,955) as he makes a case for what would be his third MVP award.
“It’s just another phenomenal performance,” coach John Harbaugh said.
“He set the all-time NFL record for rushing yards (for a quarterback) in pro football. That kind of speaks for itself. It’s just what he does every week.”
Jackson, the MVP last season and in 2019, put on a show rivaled only by Beyoncé’s spectacular Super Bowl-level halftime performance to give Baltimore its third straight victory.
And it took him just over 45 minutes to do so, making way for Josh Johnson with around ten minutes to go and the match long decided.
“Just having fun,” Jackson said. “The NFL isn’t easy. I don’t care what no one says. It seems easy, but it isn’t.’
