Lalor Park police operation: Men arrested in Katoomba after pursuit where officer shot his gun
Wild chase comes to a dramatic end with two men arrested after officers chased around Sydney for a few hours and fired gunshots at their car

Two men have been arrested following a major police operation that involved a high-speed chase and multiple gunshots fired by officers.
Police received reports of suspicious activity after a man, 21, was reportedly seen changing the license plates on his black Holden Commodore sedan in Lalor Park at about 8:15 a.m. Thursday.
Officers saw the Commodore traveling on Freeman Street, but the vehicle reportedly failed to stop after police ordered the driver to pull over at 9:30 a.m.
It led to a chase in several nearby suburbs, with police asking for help Traffic and Highway Patrol Command and PolAir.
Officers attempted to stop the car as it approached Gibbon and Old Windsor roads in Winston Hills.

An officer reportedly tried to grab the Commodore but was flung over the hood of a nearby police car after the driver reportedly pressed his foot on the accelerator.
The officer fired several shots with his rifle as the sedan sped away.
Shocked residents of Winston Hills described hearing “loud bangs” during the police chase.
One described said the noise sounded like “fireworks” going off as police chased the driver.
A man, 21, got out of the Commodore shortly after the shots were fired and was immediately arrested.
The driver headed north on Old Windsor Road before heading west on the M7.
He then got off at the M4 and headed west along the Great Western Highway towards the Blue Mountains.
Police spiked roadways in Springwood in an attempt to stop the Commodore, but failed.
Police began chasing the driver of a black Holden Commodore in Lalor Park, western Sydney, at 9.30am on Thursday.
The driver continued up the Blue Mountains, but was eventually slowed down by traffic in Katoomba.
He tried a Uturn and began heading east on the Great Western Highway.
Specialized agents from the Tactical Operations Unit managed to stop the car at the highway intersection around 11:40 am.
Officers tasered the driver before arresting him.
He was assessed at the scene by paramedics and was then taken to Katoomba Hospital where he remains under police guard.
The first man was taken to Blacktown police station where he is assisting with the investigation.
No police officers were seriously injured in the operation
Several roads remain closed at Winston Hills and Katoomba, where crime scene investigations are ongoing.
Motorists are urged to avoid these areas and postpone their journey if possible.
