LaLiga has adopted a sensible attitude towards the latest racist abuse directed at Vinicius Jnr, as they have filed a formal complaint with a court in Mallorca.
The Real Madrid attacker was attacked again when TV cameras caught a fan racially abusing him during Sunday’s 1-0 loss to Real Mallorca.
It is the sixth time that LaLiga has filed a legal complaint for racism against the Brazilian.
In a statement, LaLiga said: “After analyzing the images and the audio recorded from a position close to the stands of San Moix, LaLiga has transferred all the information collected, together with the formal complaint, to the courts of Palma de Mallorca, as well as as for Real Mallorca, to allow them to take part in the process.’
Vinicius Jnr has been targeted on multiple occasions this season. The mistreatment directed at him in Mallorca marks the third time in 2022-23.
Television cameras caught chants calling Vinicius a ‘monkey’, with the league outraged by the continued attacks on the Brazilian.
Vinicius is the victim of something I don’t understand. It has to be resolved,” said Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.
“It seems that the problem is Vinicius, and it is not like that”.
