Lala Kent says ‘reality TV isn’t for everyone…’ after Vanderpump co-star Raquel Leviss quits the show following Tom Sandoval cheating scandal

Lala Kent said that she finds Reality TV a ‘very intense environment’.

The 32-year-old Vanderpump Rules star admitted on a recent episode of her “Give Them Lala” podcast that Reality TV isn’t for everyone, after her Vanderpump Rules co-star Raquel Leviss, 28, quit the show after the Tom The Sandoval cheating scandal.

Kent said in her podcast, “I don’t think Reality TV is for everyone. It’s a very intense environment. If you are not that strong mentally, it can break you. That is certainly possible.’

“Now, to say that Raquel was a victim of something, I don’t know. What I do know is that you have decided to sleep with your best friend’s partner, who has been together for ten years. You didn’t have to. No one forced you to do this and no one asked you to.’

The cheating scandalwhich was reported in March 2023, saw Vanderpump Rules co-star Tom Sandoval, 40, cheat on his girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix, 39, with Leviss, the couple’s close friend and co-star on the hit Bravo show.

The cheating scandal, which was documented in the show’s tenth season and caught the country’s attention, resulted in Madix breaking up with Sandoval and ending her friendship with Leviss.

Shortly after news of the affair broke, Leviss said took to social media to apologize for her behavior.

The 28-year-old wrote on Instagram at the time: “I want to apologize for my actions and my choices, especially to Ariana, and to my friends and the fans who have been so invested in our relationships. There is no excuse, I am not a victim and I have to face my actions and I deeply regret hurting Ariana. (sic)’

Raquel also promised to think about her mistakes and announced her plans to go to a mental health facility to think about “choices”, (speak) with a counselor, and (learn) things about myself, such as my patterns of codependency and my addiction to ‘being’. and feel loved.’

“I have sought emotional validation through intimate connections that are not healthy without regard to my own well-being, that sometimes negatively affect others, and that often prioritize the intimate connection over my friendships. I take steps to understand my behavior and make healthier choices. (sic)’

Leviss was released from the mental health facility last month and it was recently announced that she would not be returning for season 11 of Vanderpump Rules to focus on “her mental health journey.”

Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules is currently in production and has been filming since June. A premiere date for the new season has not yet been announced.

Kent’s comments come shortly after her accused Bethenny Frankel of ‘exploiting’ Leviss after the 28-year-old appeared on Frankel’s podcast ‘Just B with Bethenny Frankel’.

“I’m thrilled that (Raquel) can finally take advantage of a giant platform to tell her story. I’ve only seen snippets (of her interview with Bethenny). And what I’ve gathered from that is that Bethenny has completely exploited that girl again,” Kent said.

“To me, (Bethenny) sat there and said, ‘(Raquel) will be easy to manipulate because I’m Bethenny Frankel,'” Kent said, implying that the Skinnygirl founder was trying to “put (Rachel) into the story.” That suited her best.

Kent also expressed disappointment at always liking Frankel, whom she called “a great argumenter” and “extremely intelligent.”

Leviss, who has decided to go back to being called her birth name “Rachel,” sat down for a three-part interview on the former Real Housewives of New York star’s podcast to discuss her time with Vanderpump Rules and her role in the cheating scandal.

The 28-year-old’s appearance on Frankel’s podcast marked her first public comments on the dramatic fraud scandal and its subsequent fallout since the three-part reunion for Season 10 of Vanderpump Rules (which was taped in March) aired from late May to May. in early June and her departure from the mental institution in July.
