LeBron James boldly claimed that his son, Bronny, could easily play for the Los Angeles Lakers amid the team's recent woes.

The Lakers have come a long way since winning the NBA's first In-Season Tournament on December 9. They won just three of their last thirteen games, leaving them eleventh in the Western Conference.

And LA's most recent loss – their 10th in 13 games – against the Grizzlies on Friday night seemed to tip a frustrated James over the edge.

The NBA's all-time leading scorer suggested the Lakers had reached such a low point that they could recruit his 19-year-old son Bronny, who is only a freshman at USC.

'He could play for us now. Simple. EASY,” he said of the guard, who has played just seven games for the Trojans, via The New York Post.

Bronny made his debut for USC on Dec. 10 against Long Beach State after being medically cleared to return to the court following cardiac arrest suffered during a practice in July.

Through seven games, Bronny is averaging just 6.7 points, 1.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds in 17.3 minutes.

After losing 127-113 at home to the Grizzlies on Friday to push their record to a disappointing 17-19, James further expressed his frustration.

“I don't think that far back in the past,” LeBron said after the game. 'It was only two games. We're bad right now.”

While the Lakers rallied to win the NBA regular season tournament last month, the team has been on a spiral since then.

And James doesn't believe the team's victory in Las Vegas necessarily means they are contenders to win the NBA championship this summer.

“But that was only two games,” James said. 'That was a small sample. Everyone gets so excited about Vegas, keep bringing up Vegas. It was two games. We took care of those things… but that was really only two games.”

“This is the NBA, man,” Ham said. 'This is a marathon. You have to look at the whole picture. I'm tired of people living and dying with every game we play. It's actually ridiculous.

“It's like, 'Come on, man. This is a marathon.' We came to a difficult route. It's the same team. We played some high-level games a while ago, and now we have to get back to that. But we must continue the fight. We cannot lose our battle.'

The Athletics previously reported that there was a 'deeper rift' between Ham and the dressing room, citing six unnamed sources.

The Lakers finished seventh in the Western Conference last season before advancing to the Western Conference Finals.
