Lakers icon LeBron James to be memorialized with museum dedicated to his legendary career opening in his hometown of Akron

A museum dedicated to LeBron James will open later this month in the Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s hometown.

The 38-year-old’s journey will be commemorated at House Three Thirty in Akron, Ohio under the name ‘LeBron James’ Home Court.’ According to the LeBron James Family Foundation, the museum will open on November 25.

‘LeBron James’ Home Court’ will be a multimedia experience, with the museum featuring a reconstruction of the apartment where James and his mother, Gloria, lived. Items from his youth, high school career and championships with Cleveland, Miami and the Lakers will also be on display.

“My dream was always to put Akron on the map, so having a place in my hometown where I can share my journey with my fans from all over the world means a lot to me,” James said.

“I’ve been known to hold on to a lot of things over the years, and I always knew there would be a time and place to bring them out.”

Among the items on display are the white suit James wore during the 2003 NBA Draft, his jersey from the McDonald’s All-American Game, as well as a sign and border from St Vincent-St Mary High School, where James first started . to attract attention as a teenager.

James, a four-time NBA champion who turns 39 next month, is in his 21st season as a professional. Last year he passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the leading scorer in league history.

He has also achieved a number of other accolades in his career, including being named a 19-time All-Pro, 19-time All-Star, four-time MVP, six-time All-Defensive team member and more.

During last season’s attempt to break the Lakers scoring record, James averaged 28.9 points, 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists over the course of 55 games.

LA then rebounded from a rough first half of the season to reach the Western Conference finals before being defeated by the NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets.

This year the Lakers got off to another rough start. Their record currently stands at 3-5, with the five losses coming in consecutive road games.

LA’s most recent game, Wednesday night, ended in a 128-94 loss to the Houston Rockets as James reignited his rivalry with Dillon Brooks.
