A teenager fights for his life after a disturbing incident outside a New Year’s Eve party in which a shard of broken glass punctured his eye.

The 16-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted by three teenagers who were previously denied entry to a house party in Ocean Street, Dudley, south of Newcastle.

Officers attended the home and found the boy with severe lacerations to his head and face.

Police allege that the three teenagers smashed the glass bottle against the boy’s face, leaving him with serious injuries.

Police said the alleged incident occurred when he left the party shortly after midnight.
