A young girl has reportedly been stabbed to death by her teenage sister in the Lake Macquarie region of NSW.
Emergency services rushed to a house in Thurston Street, Boolaroo, near Newcastle, at around 3.45pm on Monday after reports of a stabbing.
Paramedics treated a 10-year-old girl at the scene for multiple stab wounds, but she could not be resuscitated and died at the scene.
The police arrested a 17-year-old girl in the house.
She was taken to Belmont Police Station and is currently assisting with investigations.
No charges have been filed yet.

It is believed they are two sisters, reports the Daily Telegraph.
There are no other reports of injuries.
A crime scene has been cordoned off as the investigation continues.
Specialist forensic investigators were on their way to the crime scene on Monday evening.
