Lake Burrendong tragedy: toddler killed in busy holiday park after horror ute incident

A child has died after allegedly being run over by a child at a busy lakeside holiday park in central NSW.

Emergency services were called to Fashions Mount Rd on Lake Burrendong, south-east of Dubbo, shortly after 11am on Saturday.

NSW Ambulance paramedics assessed the child at the scene before being airlifted to the Children's Hospital at Westmead.

A NSW Police spokesperson confirmed the child, believed to be one year old, has since died in hospital.

A crime scene has reportedly been established and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
