Lainey Wilson adorably gave a Make-A-Wish kid the thrill of a lifetime by hinting at a return to Yellowstone, just days after star Kevin Costner confirmed he will not be returning to his highly popular series.
The 31-year-old star appeared on the Today show Tuesday morning to perform a few songs from her upcoming album Whirlwind, but the best moment of all was when she made a young fan’s dream come true.
Her superfan Payton – an 11-year-old who suffers from cystic fibrosis and was even so inspired by her idol that she started a band – was called on stage and hugged by the country star who delivered incredible news.
Lainey said: ‘So this is so special to me, you too have the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen, but tomorrow night I’m playing Radio City [Music Hall] and I would like to give you and your family tickets so that you can all be there.
“And we’re going to hang out before the show. I’ll give you the whole ordeal. It’s going to be so much fun. So I would like to have you there. It’s going to be a party!’

Payton was in disbelief as she quickly accepted the invite with a huge smile on her face before being hugged by the star.
Lainey looked absolutely stunning in her signature look of black wide-leg trousers, while adding a pop of colour in the form of turquoise detailing, including fringe on the vest.
She also wore a matching glittering turquoise cowboy hat over her signature blonde locks.
On the program she sang songs such as Heart Like A Truck, Watermelon Moonshine, Country’s Cool Again and Hang Tight Honey.
Lainey also teased the possibility of a return to CBS hit series Yellowstone.
While her comeback hasn’t been confirmed yet, host Al Roker said, “Oh and by the way, congratulations on Yellowstone Season 5, you’re going to act on it.”
Lainey replied, “Yes, fingers crossed. I’ll tell them, ‘You know you put me back in it.’
She joined the cast of the neo-Western drama series in 2022, and while she would happily return for the next season, Lainey remains in the dark about her possible involvement.

The country singer – whose music was also featured on Yellowstone – told Entertainment Tonight last month, “I literally still don’t know, but I’m waiting for the call.”
Lainey believes the future of Yellowstone, and her own involvement, will be determined by Taylor Sherdian, the show’s co-creator, who was reportedly at odds with the show’s star, Kevin Costner.
But the Things a Man Oughta Know hitmaker is keen to know if she will be involved in the show’s progress.
Lainey played Abby, an aspiring country music artist and love interest for Ian Bohen’s Ryan, in the first half of season five.
Lainey previously revealed that she expects Abby to appear in the next season of Yellowstone.
The singer and actress admitted she would be “shocked” if Abby doesn’t return to the hit TV show.
She told Entertainment Tonight in April, “I’ll be honest with you. I would be shocked.

“And I think the way Taylor Sheridan writes his stories, and he just has a beautiful way of bringing things back and letting things go, you’re going to be shocked. So we’ll see what happens.’
On the other hand, Lainey noted that her touring schedule could hinder her Yellowstone ambitions.
The award-winning star admitted that her tour dates could potentially coincide with filming, which would mean she wouldn’t be able to commit to the next season.
Lainey said, “What you won’t see on my calendar is the rehearsal for this country’s Cool Again tour. And that should last a week or two. So just let me know.
