The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project 2024 Block Party was held at Universal Studios Backlot in Universal City, California.
According to the event websiteThey aim to ‘support transformative, locally-led change by partnering with community-based organisations that support young people, their sexual and reproductive health and rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence.’
Theron, 48, wrote on the site: “Real, lasting change comes from the communities themselves.”
The programme was developed in collaboration with 16 organisations in South Africa, Zambia and Rwanda, reaching almost 590,000 young people on the continent.
According to the organization, they have provided more than $13 million in grants to underprivileged students.
