Lady Gaga’s restaurateur father reveals his endorsement in the 2024 race: ‘They’re two vastly different people’

Lady Gaga’s father, Joe Germanotta, a restaurateur, endorsed former President Donald Trump on Thursday despite his daughter’s prominent Democratic leanings.

On Thursday morning on Fox & Friends, Germanotta said he supports Trump because of the former president’s economic and immigration policies.

He said of Trump and the Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris: “They are two completely different people.”

“One is pure, you know, and he’s a patriot, right?” Germanotta said of Trump. “The other one is just going to say whatever they need to say to get elected.”

Germanotta lamented that his restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, was set to have its best year ever when COVID-19 struck.

“But the real basis — I don’t vote for people,” the pop star’s father explained. “Yeah, he’s rude, okay? But he’s a patriot and his policies are there, okay?”

Germanotta said he supported “low fuel and food prices” and “low interest rates.”

Since the economy took a nosedive due to the COVID pandemic, Americans have been suffering from higher costs at the pump and in the grocery store.

The Federal Reserve cut interest rates by half a percentage point this week, a move Trump lamented because it could help Harris at the ballot box.

During the campaign, Trump blamed Democrats for the weak economy, while President Joe Biden and Harris accused the former Republican president of causing the economy to fail in the first place.

Germanotta also said on Fox & Friends that the police should be able to do their job.

“Don’t let the protesters burn down our cities and our small businesses, okay?” he continued. “Keep the jobs here in the United States.”

He called the current border problems an “invasion,” a parrot version of the language Trump uses to describe the influx of illegal immigrants.

“If you put them side by side, I don’t know what she’s talking about, OK?” Germanotta said. “She keeps talking about ‘opportunity zones,'” he said of Harris.

Since Harris took the lead on the Democratic nomination in late July, she has talked about creating an “opportunity economy” for all Americans.

She has received support from a number of high-profile celebrities, including pop stars Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish, but Gaga has yet to help her during her campaign.

Four years ago, Lady Gaga helped Biden get over the hump with a series of last-minute campaign events in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Germanotta opened Joanne Trattoria in 2012, after his daughter became famous, but told The New York Times He could have opened it back then without the pop star’s help.

Yet the restaurant’s website heavily references Lady Gaga – or Stefani. It hosts live music every Saturday and drag shows every Wednesday.
