Lady Gaga fans go wild as she is spotted stepping out to buy a takeaway sandwich in Paris – after Olympics opening ceremony performance

Lady Gaga’s fans were furious and said she was ‘just like them’ after she was spotted grabbing a sandwich in Paris on Saturday.

The 38-year-old singer is in the French capital after performing at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on Friday evening.

And despite her superstar status, she still wanted to fully enjoy the city’s culinary delights – and order a sandwich herself – so she went.

She was spotted in an all-black outfit, with dark sunglasses and impeccable make-up, accompanied by two muscular bodyguards.

Lady Gaga, who said in 2011 that she was “crazy about Parisian ham and cheese sandwiches,” was spotted busily completing her order, then joking with one of the waiters who took her card payment.

‘Gaga said in 2011: “I love Paris, ham and cheese sandwiches”, and now it’s 2024 and we saw her ordering a “sandwich jambon fromage” in Paris again!’

The 38-year-old singer is in the French capital after performing at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on Friday evening

Last weekend she wrote on X, formerly Twitter, about the work she put into her performance and thanked France for the opportunity to perform

It looked like she was talking on a French television program, because she showed off her linguistic talent with the comment in French.

That came after she delighted her fans with the song Always Remember Us This Way in front of her hotel in Paris on Saturday night, a day after impressing at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games.

The American singer stepped out of the sunroof of her car to sing the hit song featured in her 2018 film with Bradley Cooper: A Star Is Born.

She sparkled in a black suit and spread her arms theatrically as she encouraged the audience to sing louder.

Before entering the building, the star stopped to sign autographs and posed for photos with fans.

Just the night before, Lady Gaga delivered an unforgettable pink-feathered performance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Celine Dion, 56, also performed on Friday, making an emotional comeback to the stage after opening up about her struggle with Stiff Person Syndrome.

Lady Gaga’s A Star Is Born is the fourth English-language film adaptation of the story, following the original 1937 romantic drama and the 1954 and 1976 remakes. All are American.

The story is about an alcoholic musician (Bradley) who discovers and falls in love with a young singer (Lady Gaga), but begins to sabotage her career because he feels abandoned.

The film received numerous accolades, including eight nominations for the 91st Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Bradley) and Best Actress (Lady Gaga).

The film won Best Original Song for Shallow and received five nominations at the 76th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Drama.

A Star Is Born won the award for Best Original Song for Lady Gaga and Bradley’s duet Shallow.

The film’s soundtrack won a BAFTA Award and four Grammy Awards from seven nominations, including a nomination for Song of the Year two years in a row.

Thanks to the film’s acclaim, Lady Gaga became the first woman in history to win an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, a BAFTA Award, and a Golden Globe Award in the same year.

On Friday evening, the singer sang a version of Mon Truc En Plumes on a staircase along the River Seine, before paying tribute to the country via social media.

She wrote on X (formerly Twitter): ‘I am extremely grateful to be opening the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 this year.

‘I also feel honoured that the Organising Committee of the Olympic Games has asked me to sing such a special French song: a song in honour of the French people and their great history in art, music and theatre.

The crowd included several world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Sir Keir Starmer, the recently elected British Prime Minister.

The House of Gucci star also used her social media post to reveal that she had studied French choreography for the performance, drawing a lot of inspiration from the country’s theatre scene.

She added: ‘We hired pom poms from the archives of Le Lido, a real French cabaret theatre. We worked with Dior to create bespoke costumes, using naturally shed feathers.

‘I studied French choreography that put a modern twist on a French classic. I rehearsed tirelessly to study a joyful French dance and brush up on some old skills’

‘I bet you didn’t know I danced at a 60’s French party on the Lower East Side when I was just starting out! I hope you love this performance as much as I do.

She concluded her message by congratulating the athletes who would participate in the Games and declared the Games “open.”

However, the singer faced a number of problems, including sound issues and the wet weather, which caused a dancer to slip.

Footage from BBC Sport shows him kicking his leg into the air and then falling backwards.

The dancer then disappears from view behind a loudspeaker and lands flat on his back, recovering and continuing the routine.

Rumors circulated that the Telephone singer had booked a spot for the opening of the international sporting event, but some fans were unimpressed with the sound quality.

Fans of X, formerly known as Twitter, took to Twitter to say that her song must have been ‘her worst song ever’ and claimed that she sang in ‘French adjacent’, while criticizing the audio of the broadcast.

One of them wrote: ‘Great performance by Lady Gaga. Too bad the French forgot to do a soundcheck beforehand.’

‘Lady Gaga is performing for a not so big crowd in a stadium, but on a platform next to the river. The sound is terrible, the sound is just lost in the huge open space instead of being reflected by a stadium.’

‘Very famous FRENCH artist… uh… #LadyGaga. With a… Uhm… I don’t know what that performance was, but it must have been her worst ever. #OlympicGames #Paris2024’

‘Lady Gaga isn’t even f*****g French. This is like singing Bad Bunny while the Olympics were in Colombia’
