Just over a week after the kissing row that set tongues wagging, Lachie Neale and his wife Jules have made a surprising announcement.
Brisbane superstar Neale was at the center of a saga after he shared a seemingly innocent kiss on the cheek with Channel 7 AFL commentator Abbey Holmes after the Lions played the Bulldogs in round 13.
Holmes interviewed an exhausted Neale as they both leaned in for a quick kiss on the cheek after their conversation was over.
The pair, who are friends off the pitch, have since sparked debate over whether the kiss was inappropriate or not, with some commentators believing a line was crossed.
But Holmes and Neale responded strongly to any criticism of the moment, with the presenter revealing that Jules had contacted her to check on her following the social media outrage.
Jules Neale … sent me a message this morning saying, ‘I hope you’re doing well – this is ridiculous,'” Holmes told News Corp.
“I’m like, ‘Mate, I know. Lachie is a friend of mine.’
Neale added: “The fact that it has come up a week later is a bit strange. I actually didn’t know anything about it until recently. It comes as a bit of a surprise.”

And now that they’ve put the non-issue behind them, the Neales have made an exciting announcement, revealing they’re expecting their second child together.
The couple shared a sweet gender reveal on social media, with their first child, daughter Piper, holding a sonogram.
“And then there were four,” they said.
‘We can’t wait to meet you little one!
“I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to grow this little family. It wasn’t easy, but there has never been anyone on their own TTC journey worth sending you all the love and happiness in the world.”
The couple is expecting a boy and the wonderful news gives them ‘the biggest shock of our lives’.
