The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has reportedly ruled that no charges will be filed against former Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias in connection with an alleged assault.
Urias was arrested in September after someone saw a physical altercation between a man and a woman outside a Major League Soccer stadium and contacted police, the arrest report said.
If TMZ Sports At the time, it was reported that law enforcement officers were told Urias came from behind a woman, put his arm around her and slammed her against a fence while pulling her hair.
Now, however, according to ESPN, the case will be moved to the city attorney’s office, where intermediate misdemeanor charges will be considered. Urias is currently a free agent after his Dodgers contract expired at the end of last season.
In December, the investigation into the assault allegations was concluded by California Highway Patrol, leaving the LA County District Attorney’s Office to decide whether the evidence warranted charges against the 27-year-old left-hander.

Previous reports claimed that the woman Urias was with became angry because he posed for photos with female fans during the Major League Soccer match.
TMZ said the alleged victim had strangulation marks on her neck. Urias was also accused of hitting on her.
According to the report, DPS officers patrolled outside the stadium after the soccer match in which Lionel Messi played in front of numerous celebrities, including Prince Harry, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ed Norton, Jason Sudeikis, Owen Wilson and Mario Lopez, as well as LAFC owners. They were contacted by someone, whose name was not publicly known, about a physical altercation between a man and a woman.
According to the report, DPS officers spoke with the individuals involved and determined a physical altercation occurred. The investigation resulted in the arrest of Urias on suspicion of bodily harm to a spouse or cohabitant.

Urias posted $50,000 bail and was released hours later. He was subsequently placed on indefinite administrative leave by Major League Baseball and was unavailable for the 2023 postseason.
The leave was imposed under baseball’s Joint Policy on Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse adopted by MLB and the players’ association in 2015 and could be the first step toward a suspension. Players are paid, but cannot play while on leave.
Urias, a 27-year-old Mexican-born pitcher, was previously arrested in May 2019 for domestic battery.
He was suspended 20 games by MLB, but was not prosecuted by the Los Angeles City Attorney on the condition that he complete a 52-week domestic violence counseling program. No player has been suspended twice under MLB’s joint domestic violence policy.
