Kyrie Irving could make his Mavericks debut as soon as this WEDNESDAY after his blockbuster trade from the Nets, as the guard is expected to “travel with Dallas to Los Angeles to face the Clippers.”

Following his successful trade from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks, the date has been set for Kyrie Irving’s debut with his new team.

Irving will reportedly play his first game with the Mavericks on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 30-year-old is expected to travel to Los Angeles with his new team on Wednesday, where he will take the floor to face the Clippers, according to to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The report adds that the eight-time All-Star is also scheduled to undergo a physical in Dallas on Monday, clearing the way for him to play in Los Angeles barring any hiccups.

Irving will now join forces with Luka Doncic to form one of the most dangerous backcourts in the NBA, though they may not play their first few minutes together on Wednesday.

Kyrie Irving was traded from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday afternoon.

Irving is currently set to make his Mavericks debut on Wednesday against the LA Clippers.

The 30-year-old is expected to travel to Los Angeles with his new Mavericks teammates.

Doncic is currently out with an injury he suffered Thursday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Irving has averaged 27.1 points, 5.3 assists and 5.1 rebounds in 40 games after missing several games due to being suspended after he made no apologies for reposting a link to a movie that was deemed anti-Semitic.

Doncic has averaged 33.4 points, 8.2 assists and 8.9 rebounds in his 47 appearances.

While all eyes will be on Irving’s debut on Wednesday, there may be others still watching what the Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant do after the trade.

The Phoenix Suns are said to be prepared to go after Durant should he become available, while the Toronto Raptors had talks with the Nets about a ‘later deathl’ following the trade of Irving. However, it remains to be seen what the talks entailed and whether they involved Durant.

Brooklyn themselves have said they plan to build around Durant, so things may get interesting as we get closer to Thursday’s trade deadline.

The Lakers, who are trying to inject some life into their season, tried to get involved since Irving was interested in going to Los Angeles.

The franchise is currently 25-29 and 13th in the West, 2.5 games into the tournament.

The move sees Irving partner with Dallas star and MVP candidate Luke Doncic once healthy.

But their hopes were dashed after Irving headed to Dallas with Nets owner Joe Tsai’s goal not to send the guard to Los Angeles, according to Mark Stein.

Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday afternoon, ending his controversial tenure with the Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets get Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round pick and multiple second-round picks for Irving, according to Atlético. Markieff Morris is also heading to Dallas.

The move sees Irving join forces with Luka Doncic. The Mavericks play next Monday night against the Utah Jazz. Irving missed the Nets’ game Saturday night against the Wizards because of a sore right calf.

The Lakers were also tied to the Irving move, but according to ESPN, the Nets preferred the package offered by Dallas. The picks the Nets get in the deal are a 2029 unprotected first-round pick, a 2027 second-round pick and a 2029 second-round pick.

Irving also has history with Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison, who previously worked at Nike, and Dallas is said to be eager to bring in another big name to partner with MVP candidate Doncic.
