Kylie Minogue’s fears for her Las Vegas residency as venue has still not been built with less than a month to go until doors open

Kylie Minogue fears her Las Vegas residency won’t be ready in time for her first shows.

Although the residency is less than a month away, the 55-year-old pop princess admitted that the venue has not yet finished construction.

In the Wired column of the Daily Star newspaper she says: ‘I will open at the beginning of November. We’re only just finishing installation, the location isn’t even ready yet.’

“I’m sure it will be a matter of drama,” she said.

The singer gave a preview of what fans can expect at the Voltaire venue, mentioning that inspiration was taken from the eras of Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley during their Las Vegas performances.

‘It’s based on a mix between a 1930s club and a 1970s Frank Sinatra, Elvis venue, which had stalls, lights and cocktails. I’ll be there later this evening, but before that it’s meant to be part of a bigger experience,” she teased.

Kylie says she’s ready to surprise her fans in the United States with a performance of her biggest hits and a host of unexpected treats.

She is keen to perform in what she calls an “intimate” location for her residency, describing it as an important “rite of passage” for her.

‘I’m so excited about it. It is located in a very intimate location, it can accommodate a thousand people. It’s my rite of passage with my residency in Vegas. We create quite a punchy show for a small venue,” she said.

It comes as Kylie continues to dominate the US music scene, scoring her second number one hit on US Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart with her latest studio album, Tension.

Her previous album Disco also reached number one in 2020.

The chart-topping excitement can be attributed to the viral success of lead single Padam Padam, which gained immense popularity as a dance song earlier this year.

This single also marked a major milestone in June by becoming Kylie’s first song to reach the top 10 of the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart.

Tension received rave reviews from critics and fans alike shortly after it debuted in September.
