Kylie Kelce reveals Travis Kelce’s ridiculously expensive $38k purchase with his first NFL paycheck

Kylie Kelce revealed the ridiculous item her brother-in-law, Travis, spent his first NFL paycheck on.

Before making his fortune three Super Bowl titles later, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end made a number of extravagant and irresponsible financial decisions after receiving his signing bonus.

Talking about 94WIP In Philadelphia, Kylie revealed that Travis raved about buying a pair of Marty McFly shoes for his rookie season, leading to his older brother Jason calling him names during a visit to the City of Brotherly Love.

“When we were just starting to date, Travis came to town, I think with Marty McFly’s shoes,” Kylie recalls.

“I didn’t meet Travis at the time, but Jason told me afterwards how hard he gave Travis a hard time after Travis revealed how much he spent on the shoes. It’s fair.”

The pair of shoes, based on the film ‘Back to the Future II’, are currently listed on StockX for $38,500. Kelce also paired the shoes with a Rolex watch.

The exact price Kelce paid for it remains a mystery, but his purchase came when Nike auctioned off 1,500 pairs of the model on eBay to raise money for the Michael J Fox Foundation.

Travis shared the following on their New Heights Podcast in 2021: “I got picked first in the third round and got about $800,000, so I ended up getting about $500,000 to $600,000, after taxes and everything.

‘I walked into this empty apartment wearing Marty McFlys and a Rolex. I felt like the coolest guy in the world.’

‘I’ve always wanted shoes like that, I’ve always been a big Nike fan and I’ve watched Back To The Future so many times and I wanted to know what the Nikes would look like in the future. They were anti-gravity and self-lacing.’

Jason replied, “Someone told me you bought those shoes and I looked up how much they cost and I remember thinking, ‘What the f***, Travis.'”

More than a decade after he was drafted, Kelce has proven his worth and earned a two-year, $34.25 million contract to remain with the Chiefs. Still, Kylie remains adamant about the recklessness of his initial signing.

“They’re so cool, but he does deserve a little criticism for that.”
