Kylie Jenner accused of ‘stealing’ Sofia Richie’s ‘quiet luxe’ style in ‘rebrand attempt’
Kylie Jenner has been accused of copying ex-girlfriend Sofia Richie’s “quiet luxury” style in what many see as her latest attempt at rebranding.
Photos of 25-year-old Kylie in Paris last month revealed the makeup mogul in a range of chic yet simple looks that are typical of 24-year-old Sofia’s take on the aesthetic, inviting speculation that the youngest of the Kardashian-Jenner siblings tries to beat off her ex-boyfriend.
Since Fashion declared ‘quiet luxury’ the main trend of the season in March, many have come to see Sofia – Nicole’s younger sister; daughter of Lionel – to be the epitome of the minimalist, ‘old money’ style.
It was a May 29 tweet from the fashion trends-focused account @diorismic that led to comparisons between the pair, sparking a rampant discussion about Kylie’s new style direction.

Commenting on Kylie’s TikTok, posted earlier that day, the tweet stated “the sofia richie effect is real.”
In the eight-second clip, Kylie models a series of four tastefully elegant outfits from an ultra-luxurious hotel room in Paris: an all-white look; another combines a white two-piece suit with black accessories; and two monochromatic, LBD-centric ensembles.
“She heard we like old money looks,” declared a TikToker in a comment that had garnered about 15,000 likes at the time of writing.
“Oh she’s suddenly in her sophisticated era lol,” joked another, finishing the comment with a laughing emoji.
One response echoed, “It’s because of Sofia Richie.”
Self-proclaimed members of Instagram’s fashion mafia seemed to agree wholeheartedly.
‘Sophia (sic) Richie vibes’ as one user put it succinctly.
Others echoed the feeling, commenting, “It gives Sofia” and “She was influenced by Sofia.”

On Twitter, user @steIlata shot back to @diorismic, in response to the tweet: “No, I feel like celebrities typically all dress like this when they’re in Paris (I think she’s there?) with more neutral tones and a little more elegance than their typical LA style. ‘
Despite her latest Parisian escapades, Kylie’s previously established personal style tended toward tacky, garish looks.
It wasn’t that long ago when Kylie and Sofia seemed inseparable, photographed side-by-side at fashion shows, parties, holiday destinations and beyond.
However, many have speculated that tensions between Kylie and Sofia have risen following the latter’s short-lived relationship with Scott Disick.
