Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid next season after reportedly agreeing a deal with Los Blancos earlier this week Foot Mercato.

Over the past two summers, both Mbappe and Real Madrid have been involved in transfer sagas, with everything seeming to point to a stunning move on both occasions. However, Real was left red-faced both times.

Real Madrid were therefore keen to avoid a third defeat when they discussed a possible transfer with Mbappé, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

According to Foot MercatoMbappe reached an agreement with Real Madrid a few days ago, committing his future to the LaLiga giants after refusing to extend his stay at Paris Saint-Germain.

However, there are reports that the financial package offered by the Spanish giants is lower than the one presented to the 25-year-old superstar during the 2022 negotiations.

Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid have reportedly agreed on a deal

Mbappe was free to negotiate with other clubs from January 1 as he had officially entered the final six months of his PSG contract. Therefore, Real Madrid began negotiating with the 25-year-old shortly afterwards.

However, a report in Le Parisien suggested Liverpool were 'the most credible and dangerous candidate' for PSG, who clearly wanted him to extend his stay with them.

Le Parisien further suggested that Liverpool viewed Mbappe as the kind of statement they needed to keep pace with Manchester City in the coming years.

Mbappe's transfer story took a new twist when the mother of 25-year-old Fayza Lamari became his agent again. She was said to take a hands-on approach to any behind-the-scenes negotiations.

Mbappé does have a contractual option to extend his stay at PSG until 2025, a clause that only he can activate. However, it seems that Real Madrid is the attractive option for the young star.

The newly renovated Santiago Bernabeu is part of the club's international ambition to give itself an edge over the nouveau riche clubs from Saudi Arabia and Qatar – and is also the driving force behind its own revenues.

Mbappe is also keen to pick up both team and individual honours, meaning he could follow the same thought process with England international Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham revealed that Real Madrid's prestige, built on fourteen Champions League victories and a record 35 La Liga titles, was a strong factor in why he joined the club this summer – even if he would have earned more at Manchester City.
