A camera focused specifically on Kylian Mbappe was back in action as football fans noticed the Frenchman’s concentration problems cost him dearly during Real Madrid’s La Liga season opener.

Madrid drew 1-1 in the La Liga season opener at Mallorca, with Mbappé leading the team’s three-pronged attack alongside Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

The match marked Mbappé’s La Liga debut and curiosity about his performance was so great that fans were able to follow his every move via a special ‘Mbappé Cam’.

However, the stream only served to highlight a moment that Mbappé would rather forget.

Mallorca equalised in the 53rd minute from a corner with a header from Kosovar striker Vedat Muriqu.

Unfortunately for Mbappé, his special camera showed how easily he let Muriqu, who he was marking for the corner, escape his grasp.

The Frenchman quickly looks to Muriqu to see where his man is, but then turns to the Mallorca striker and is caught looking at the ball.

Unbeknownst to Mbappe, Muriqu moves behind him and takes the space as he heads in a free header from a Dani Rodriguez corner.

Mbappe could only watch before walking away in frustration after allowing Muriqu to pass the ball unchallenged.

Fans wasted no time in giving Mbappé a bad name on social media, with almost everyone describing his La Liga debut in the same way.

Mbappe joined the Spanish giants on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain this summer and received a hefty signing bonus of £85.5 million.

He made his debut for Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup, scoring one of the two goals in the 2–0 win over Atalanta.

Mbappé might have scored against Mallorca if he and Madrid’s other attackers had listened to the words of Jude Bellingham.

Post-match footage shows the England international telling Mbappe, Rodrygo and Vinicius to ‘finish the attack’ by taking a shot rather than losing the ball, otherwise Bellingham will have to put all his energy into running back and stopping the transition.

In the post-match conversation, recorded by Movistarthe England international said: ‘You three, we’ve got to finish the attack because the running back… is f***ing hard.’

Mbappe agreed with his new team-mate, adding: ‘That’s what I’m saying. We have to finish somewhere.’
