Kylian Mbappe has responded to criticism from Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique, insisting he has ‘no problem’ with his club manager.

The French superstar received bizarre post-match criticism from Enrique after scoring a hat-trick for PSG in their recent Ligue 1 win over Reims.

Enrique insisted he was ‘not happy’ with his talismanic striker and insisted Mbappe ‘needed to do more’ despite scoring all three goals in PSG’s win.

The 24-year-old has now responded while on international duty with Les Blues and calmed fears over any sort of disagreement with his club coach.

Mbappe’s future is being closely watched. His contract with PSG expires at the end of the season and Real Madrid are expected to be in a prime position for his signature.

Rather than engage in a war of words with Enrique, Mbappe praised the Spaniard and explained that he was trying to get to know the former Spanish national team boss.

‘You should ask him about the timing (of his criticism). I took it well, he is a great coach and has a lot to teach me,” Mbappé emphasized.

‘From day one I told him he wouldn’t have any problems with me.

‘I have always worked well with the coaches I have had, such as Didier Deschamps, Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel and so on.

“These are coaches who have spoken ‘badly’ to me, so to speak, but that hasn’t stopped me from playing well and having a good relationship with them.”

‘I am a player who demands a lot from himself, so when I notice that demand from my coaches, I am very happy. “I don’t need my manager to tell me every day that I’m the best player in the world,” he said.

Mbappe has scored 15 goals in as many games for PSG in all competitions this season, as his stock among potential European prospects continues to rise.

Despite being linked with a move to Real Madrid, the Spanish giants recently released a statement denying such rumours.

The club said: ‘Given the information recently issued and published by various media, speculating about alleged negotiations between player Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid CF would like to state that this information is completely incorrect and that there are no such negotiations have taken place with a player belonging to PSG.’
