- Paris Saint-Germain beat Nantes 4-2 to move to the top of Ligue 1 by 11 points
- Kylian Mbappé scored the fourth goal in the second minute of added time
- The Frenchman is already the club’s top scorer with 201 goals in 247 games
Kylian Mbappé has become Paris Saint-Germain’s all-time top scorer after scoring in a 4-2 win over Nantes.
The 24-year-old sat one behind Edinson Cavani before kick-off but wasted no time matching the remarkable feat, scoring his 201st goal for the Ligue 1 giants.
Mbappe looked set to wait for another match to break the record until he controlled Timothee Pembele’s cross before turning and finding the bottom corner in second minute of added time against Nantes.
The Frenchman has needed 247 appearances to achieve the feat, having joined PSG from Monaco in 2017 for £159.2m.
By comparison, it took Cavani 301 appearances to score 200 goals during his seven-year stay in the French capital.

Christophe Galtier’s side got off to a dream start when Messi opened the scoring on 12 minutes with a left-footed volley past Fabián Ruiz’s cross.
Five minutes later, Alban Lafont saved Nuno Mendes’ attempt in the path of Hadjam who, under pressure from Nordi Mukiele, slotted the ball into his own net to give PSG a 2-0 lead.
In the 31st minute, however, Blas fired a fine shot past Gianluigi Donnarumma to reduce the deficit, seven minutes before Ganago deflected a corner past the Italian keeper to level the game.
But 15 minutes into the second half, order was restored when Danilo headed in Mbappé’s cross before the France striker scored his record-breaking goal with a left-footed effort from inside the box.
Mbappé will be looking to add to his 201 goals for PSG in the Champions League round of 16 second leg against Bayern Munich, with the Bundesliga side holding a 1-0 first-leg lead.
