Kyle Walker endured another night to forget in England’s penalty shootout win over Switzerland as he was given a meagre 3/10 rating by the French Press Agency The team.
Walker has started all five of England’s games in Germany but he has yet to appear to be at his best. He was awarded a 3/10 in the group match against Denmark, before receiving the same rating for his performance in England’s round of 16 clash with Slovakia.
He failed to impress again in Düsseldorf as he moved from defender to right-back in a three-man defence, with L’Equipe giving him his third 3/10 of the European Championship.
Ezri Konsa also replaced the suspended Marc Guehi in the last three races, but according to L’Equipe he had a difficult evening.
They gave him just a 4/10 and claimed he was ‘guilty of almost all of Switzerland’s dangerous actions’ in the second half, including losing his man in the build-up to Breel Embolo’s goal.

England captain Harry Kane also struggled to make an impression, receiving just a 4/10
Jude Bellingham scored in the penalty shootout but was also given only a 4/10 rating
Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Kieran Trippier received the same rating as Konsa.
Kane had to be replaced in extra time after falling heavily into the England dugout, while Trippier was substituted immediately after Switzerland took the lead.
Bellingham played the full 120 minutes and scored his penalty in the shootout, but it wasn’t enough to boost his rating.
Phil Foden, Kobbie Mainoo and John Stones all scored five points, leaving only three players above that tally.
Bukayo Saka scored the equaliser for England and kept his composure during the penalty shootout. With a rating of 8/10 he was rightly recognised as his team’s best player.
Jordan Pickford was awarded a 7 after saving Manuel Akanji’s penalty in the shootout, with Declan Rice receiving the same mark after what was arguably his best performance of the tournament.
England are now in the semi-finals, where they will face the Netherlands on Wednesday. However, L’Equipe’s ratings show that Gareth Southgate, who was rated 5/10, needs to get more out of his players if they are to progress.
