Kyle Sandilands makes things clear about his KIIS FM radio show to be broadcast in Melbourne next year – and why he will NEVER talk about AFL
KIIS FM radio star Kyle Sandilands has confirmed that his top-rated Kyle and Jackie O Show will not air in Melbourne, after rumors spread that the show would be broadcast to the neighboring city.
Kyle was questioned Monday about the speculation by The Project’s Sarah Harris.
The 52-year-old said it didn’t happen, but he did say it would be extremely profitable.
I think we would do pretty well there. We already have hundreds of thousands of listeners there. We can monitor through the iHeart Radio app,” he explained.
The Kyle and Jackie O show currently has a market share of 20 percent, and he noted that it is the most popular radio show ever broadcast in Australia.

“A lot of people don’t realize it. This radio program is the most listened radio program in the history of radio programs in this country. Wait a minute,” he said.
Kyle added that the network would save money by having one big show.
“You don’t have to be a genius to realize how much money you’d save if we just had one big show everywhere,” he said.
Kyle joked that if he ever had a show in Melbourne he wouldn’t be caught dead discussing the AFL on the programme.

“When we broadcast in Melbourne, you never hear about AFL because we don’t do sports. We don’t care about sports,” he said.
Rumors swirled that Kyle and Jackie O would air in Melbourne after being sparked by Brendan Fevola earlier this month.
Fevola claimed a source told him, “You might have competition next year. Someone from our town will be in Melbourne right now. “Kyle and Jackie!”

The syndication of The Kyle and Jackie O Show in Melbourne would see Jase & Lauren scrapped.
The rumors came after Kyle hinted that he will be leaving KIIS FM after nine years to move to rival network 2Day FM.
He told co-host Jackie O, 48, that he was asked by paparazzi about the rumors when he returned to Sydney from his European honeymoon.

Kyle hinted that he was open to a possible move if he got an attractive offer, and asked Jackie, “What’s my motto?”
“Where there’s a cash register, there’s a way,” she replied.
Kyle confirmed she was right and joked that this was also Jackie’s motto.
According to the Australian Financial Review, the duo’s old network, SCA, had been “quite aggressive” in pursuing the pair as their current deal with KIIS FM and ARN expires in 2024.
“This is like sports rights for radio. It is very likely that this will be the largest talent media deal ever,” said a network insider.
