Kyle Sandilands reveals his wildest celebrity encounters and the shock reason why one star blacklisted his radio show

Kyle Sandilands has revealed some of his wildest celebrity encounters during his 24-year radio career.

Monday on KIIS FM’s Will & Woody, the radio titan revealed his most surprising confrontations with some of the world’s biggest stars.

Kyle, 52, said one of the worst encounters happened many years ago when he and co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson interviewed American prankster Will Ferrell.

While on air, Jackie continued to mispronounce Will Ferrell’s name as Will Pharell, to which his publicist later responded with a scathing attack on Jackie in the green room, bringing her to tears.

“I walked outside and heard the aftermath and saw Jackie and I verbally threatening them all. I told Will, ‘You, that stupid publicist, get out,'” Kyle recalled.

As a result of Kyle’s dressing down, his show was blacklisted by the publicist for years, costing him a number of interviews with major celebrities.

Kyle also revealed an awkward moment when he accused Ricky Gervais of passing gas through the air.

“We had him on Zoom and he sat down in the chair and we were recording and I heard (a fart sound) and I said, ‘did you just fart?'” Kyle said.

During the broadcast, Jackie O (pictured) continued to mispronounce Will Ferrell’s name as Will Pharell, to which his publicist later responded with a scathing attack on Jackie in the green room, bringing her to tears.

‘And he said, “No, it’s a chair.” And I said, “Oh, I don’t think so. It sounds more like a fart.” And he started bouncing up and down on the chair to try to mimic it.

“And I said, ‘Just give up… you know, you’re a big boy. You spilled your guts. You know, like we’ve all done it.’

‘And he protested, ‘Oh, I didn’t do that. I’m telling you.’ I said, ‘Get over that, we all know it, we’ve all heard it,'” the shock jock said as hosts Will and Woody laughed at his story.

The radio star then reflected on how jaded celebrities he has become over the years.

“You meet everyone and usually most of them are quite disappointing.”

“Some of your heroes come in and you think, Oh, you’re a flop in real life. You have no personality. It’s quite disappointing,” he said.
