Kyle Sandilands’ ex-girlfriend Imogen Anthony has been criticized by followers after she posted a ‘tone deaf’ tribute to late One Direction star Liam Payne.

The influencer, 34, posted a photo to Instagram of her and a friend posing up a storm with 1D while on tour Down Under in 2012.

Imogen and her friend were all smiles as they posed alongside the iconic British boy band.

She captioned the photo: “Well that’s really sad. I was a huge One D fan when they first came onto the scene.

“So I think it’s pretty iconic to have this photo of everyone together in the early days. Ps, my buddy lost her virginity to one of them last night. Amazing.’

Imogen’s ‘tribute’ to Liam quickly ruffled the feathers of many of her followers, who took to the comments section to call her out.

“I don’t even know who you are, but thanks for reminding me to unfollow you. You’re so tone deaf to say that because you think you’re cute and funny,” someone snapped.

Imogen was quick to deliver a cheeky slap, writing: ‘Good, thank you. I’m glad all my years of animal rescue come down to this one moment where you think sharing a story is harmful. Also shows your character. Goodbye.’

A second person criticized Imogen’s post, writing: ‘We didn’t need to know your girlfriend lost her virginity to one of them!!’

“Oh, now I do,” Imogen replied.

British singer Payne, 31, died on Wednesday evening after reportedly falling from the third floor of a hotel in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires, according to TMZ.

Several witnesses told the publication that he fell from his balcony at the CasaSur Palmero Hotel shortly after 5 p.m.

According to reports, Payne was behaving erratically and had to be escorted back to his hotel room before plunging to his death – with panicked hotel staff calling the police.

Police in Buenos Aires were contacted by a hotel employee who reported “an aggressive man who may have been under the influence of drugs and alcohol.”

Shortly afterwards, workers heard a loud noise in the hotel courtyard before the One Direction star’s body was discovered just after 5pm.

According to local media, Liam had ‘behaved erratically in the hotel lobby and destroyed his laptop’ before having to be ‘carried back to his room’.

Police had received a call from a hotel employee urgently requesting help with a drunken guest, according to audio material on the case obtained from the Buenos Aires Ministry of Security.

“If he’s conscious, he’ll destroy the whole room and we’ll have to send someone,” the worker said.

Emergency Medical Services Director Alberto Crescenti said Liam suffered “very serious injuries after falling from a third floor into a courtyard.”

“We verified his identity using the passport he had,” he said.

Mr Crescenti told Argentina’s Clarin newspaper that “the team saw that he apparently had a fracture at the base of the skull.”

His body was taken to a local mortuary where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Payne rose to fame on XFactor in 2010 with former bandmates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson.
