Kyle Sandilands has defended embattled Hollywood star Armie Hammer following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan on Friday.
The 37-year-old Call Me By Your Name star has been out of the spotlight since 2021 after allegations of sexual abuse and cannibalism surfaced.
During the conversation, host Morgan Hammer bluntly asked if he was indeed a cannibal.
Hammer told Morgan that the allegations arose from consensual sexual acts and kinky role-playing. When asked if he was, in fact, a cannibal, Hammer replied, “You know what you have to do to be a cannibal? You have to actually eat someone.”
The actor confirmed that he had not eaten anyone.
Speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O on Monday, Sandilands, 53, shared his thoughts on the controversy that has devastated Hammer’s career.
He expressed his sympathy for the star, who was ostracized by Hollywood and faced serious financial difficulties after allegations of cannibalistic fantasies emerged from text messages the actor allegedly sent.
“That guy is now broke because he and his girlfriend made some weird, witty comments about ‘I love you so much, I want to cook your ribs,'” Sandilands said.

‘This is not my joke, but I don’t think it was enough to ban him from Hollywood.
Sandilands also pointed out the speed with which the negative reactions to Hammer came.
“If an ex sends out a few suspicious messages, everyone immediately reacts and says, ‘Oh, that guy is a cannibal, he’s no good,'” he said.
“The world is so bad, have you noticed? This guy has no prospects now, no money anymore. No. I feel a little sorry for him, because he hasn’t eaten anyone yet.”
The Hammer scandal erupted in early 2021 when explicit messages he allegedly sent surfaced in which he described violent sexual fantasies, including cannibalism.
The fallout came quickly: Hammer was dumped by his talent agency, PR team, and several film production companies.
Sandilands expressed his condolences to the star, who has been ostracised by Hollywood and is facing major financial problems after allegations of cannibalistic fantasies emerged from text messages the actor allegedly sent.
Hammer reportedly spent six months in treatment after his life was turned upside down by allegations of sexual abuse, and he also claims he has a fetish for cannibalism.
During his interview with Morgan, the actor confirmed that he hadn’t eaten anyone, but he did admit to once writing his initials on his ex-girlfriend Paige Lorenze’s thigh.
However, he denied that it was an attempt to brand her.
“There wasn’t even any blood,” he said.
Hammer confirmed to Morgan that he cheated on his ex-wife, Elizabeth Chambers, during their marriage before things ended in July 2020.

Hammer also spoke about his relationship with Effie Angelova, who has accused him of sexual abuse. He called their relationship a “very intense affair, very sexually charged, between two people with very similar proclivities and kinks.”
During that segment, Hammer admitted that their conversations, taken out of context, would seem disturbing.
“When you take all those conversations that we had within that relationship out of that context and into the full light of day, it doesn’t look so good.”
Hammer said Angelova had more experience in the world of kinky sex than he did.
‘Different people have different sexual fantasies. And there is a very broad spectrum of sexuality, and people are allowed to engage with their own sexuality in whatever way suits them and what they do.’
Hammer, 37, became emotional at points during the interview with Morgan. During one interaction, Morgan said he was “shocked” by Hammer’s revelation
