Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s $200m radio move to Melbourne ‘could cause tension’ if they replace hosts Lauren Phillips and Jase Hawkins – who was once the radio king’s flatmate

Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson’s record-breaking radio expansion in Melbourne could cause a stir among their KIIS FM workmates.

The Shock players are reportedly set to sign a lucrative new deal with their Australian Radio Network (ARN) bosses and are set to earn a total of $200 million over the 10-year deal.

This will mean the duo will dominate markets outside of their Sydney audience and expand their reach Melbourne for the first time.

But this could put KIIS FM Melbourne breakfast presenters Jace Hawkins and Lauren Phillips out of a job.

On Monday, commentator Peter Ford claimed that Kyle and Jackie O were ‘replacing’ Jace and Lauren.

And the quake could cause a lot of friction between Kyle and Jace, who are friends and used to live together.

“There’s an interesting little side story here because they’re going to be replacing Jace Hawkins and Lauren Phillips on the breakfast show, and Jace and Kyle used to live together,” Ford claims.

‘A few weeks ago, Jase called him and said that there was no agreement. But it exists and will be officially announced in a few weeks.

‘It would certainly shake up the FM radio stations.’

It was announced on Monday that Kyle and Jackie O could earn up to $230 million over 10 years if they boost the Victoria station’s breakfast ratings.

A popular radio duo could start broadcasting in Melbourne as early as next year.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted ARN and Kyle’s manager for comment.

It comes after it was revealed that Kyle and Jackie O have triumphed at radio for the sixth time this year.
