Kyle Richards hits back at criticism after she and estranged husband Mauricio Umansky gave their daughter a $62K vehicle for her 16th birthday: ‘She’s a good kid’

She gave her daughter a luxury car for her 16th birthday earlier this week, and now Kyle Richards has responded to criticism that the car may have been too expensive for her teen.

Kyle and her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky gave their daughter Portia a Porsche Macan – a vehicle with a starting price of $62,900.

When asked about the birthday present of TMZKyle, 55, insisted the car was not as expensive as thought – and cited her daughter’s good grades and driving skills as reasons why she deserved the car.

She also revealed that she had no role in the actual purchase of the vehicle and that her ‘husband’ Mauricio purchased it himself.

“Well, it wasn’t as expensive as they reported, but I understand that, I understand that,” Kyle said.

“She’s a very good driver, she’s a straight-A student, she’s a good kid,” she said, adding that she thought her daughter deserved the vehicle.

Kyle also said she did not know how much the vehicle cost since Mauricio made the purchase.

Notably, she referred to him as her “husband” despite their divorce.

“I said to my husband Mo, ‘She works really hard,’ and you know you can talk to him about that, that was his purchase,” she said.

She also revealed the surprising reason why they chose a Porsche.

When asked if they bought the car because it resembled her daughter Portia’s name, she replied: “That might have something to do with it.”

In a TikTok video posted on Tuesday, Kyle and her estranged husband were seen surprising their daughter with the car. The vehicle was parked in their driveway and was decorated with a huge red bow.

“Whose car is that?” Mauricio wondered.

‘Are you joking?’ Portia said covering her mouth before bursting into tears.

Kyle burst out laughing when Portia walked outside and saw a black Porsche Macan with a big red bow on the hood.

‘Are you serious?’ Portia asked as Kyle continued to laugh.

Kyle and Mauricio’s daughter Sophia, 24, captured her sister’s shocked reaction on social media and a camera crew was also seen as Portia received the keys and owner’s manual for the car.

The Porsche Macan has a starting price of $62,900, but it can climb even higher with style and performance upgrades.

Kyle, Mauricio and Portia teamed up for a group hug as the teen cried with joy.

Another TikTok post showed Portia taking her new Porsche for a spin with her sisters Sophia and Alexia, 28, and parents.

“I’m patting him,” Portia joked as we drove.

Kyle and Mauricio announced their divorce in July 2023 after 27 years of marriage.

They appeared on season 13 of The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills and told their children about their divorce in an episode that aired in February.

Portia turned 16 in March and her parents reunited to celebrate with her.

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills was renewed for a fourteenth season and filming has begun with Kyle back.

Kyle was spotted filming with co-star Dorit Kemsley, 47, on Saturday and appeared reduced to tears during a one-on-one chat.

The castmates were shooting a spa-themed segment for the Bravo series and all wore luxurious white robes and slippers with their names monogrammed on them.
