Kyle and Jackie O are shocked by the wild conspiracy theory that Adele is actually Sam Smith in disguise.
Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson were shocked to discover a bizarre conspiracy theory that Adele is actually Sam Smith in disguise.
Radio duo KIIS FM discussed the wild theory on The Kyle and Jackie O Show. on Tuesday morning, after playing songs by both artists.
“A lot of people believe this conspiracy theory that Sam Smith is actually Adele dressed as a woman,” Jackie explained.

They then played Adele’s hit single Easy On Me before lowering the pitch levels, known as pitch shifting, to demonstrate how similar her voice is to Sam’s.
“That’s the real Sam,” Kyle said of the original clue.
Jackie then corrected him: ‘No, that’s the real Adele!’
As the lower key version played, Kyle seemed surprised because it sounded like the vocals were being performed by Sam, 30.

Kyle and Jackie were speechless after hearing both versions.
‘Oh my, yeah. That’s good! That sounds amazing,’ Kyle said.

Sam, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, first addressed the conspiracy theory on The Drew Barrymore Show on Monday.
They said the rumor started because they and Adele had never been photographed together in the same room.

Sam added that if you lower Adele’s voice, it actually sounds like theirs.

But fans weren’t convinced, with one tweet: “Nobody ever, in their wildest fever dream, while drunk and high on opioids, said Sam Smith is Adele crossdressing.”
‘The voice? Of course, pitch sounds like that. But physically? Not even a blind man would make that mistake.
