Kristin Cavallari gives fans a tour of the sprawling estate in Franklin, Tennessee, which she bought for just over $5 million in the summer of 2021 following her divorce from Jay Cutler.

In the latest digital edition of My Domainthe Laguna Beach alum, 35, revealed she enlisted Nashville-based designer April Tomlin to transform the interior of the three-story, five-bedroom farmhouse.

Cavallari gushed that she is “so happy” to be crouched down in Tennessee and believes raising her and Cutler’s three children — sons Camden, 10, and Jaxon, eight, and daughter Saylor, seven — in a rural setting is “a very cool way’. to grow up.’

Cutler and Cavallari separated in 2020 and initially fought over money and custody of their children, but have since agreed on an amicable co-parenting relationship.

According to the divorce settlement obtained by PEOPLEshe was allowed to “use marriage money” to buy herself a new house.

The stunning property – which Cavallari said was “calling my name” – sits on 28 acres of land with a chicken coop, vegetable garden, personal greenhouse, berry bushes and apple trees.

“Having bees and honey and a chicken coop makes me so happy,” the Denver, Colorado, resident told the outlet.

“For my kids to be able to go to our coop to get eggs is a really cool way to grow up – and very different from how I grew up.”

Cavallari was born in Denver but grew up in Laguna Beach, California, a prosperous but small coastal town in Orange County with a population of nearly 23,000.

She continues: ‘It is so nice to be able to come home to this environment. I can’t say enough good things about Tennessee.”

Renovating the house was an 18 month undertaking and included everything from the kitchen to the pool to the basement.

In addition to achieving a clean, Kim Kardashian-approved aesthetic consisting of mostly neutral tones, Cavallari also wanted to create a kid-friendly space.

Kitchen: Her gorgeous kitchen is complete with gold hardware accents, a hand-tiled mosaic backsplash, marble countertops, and glass-door cabinets that make finding dishes and cookware a breeze

Although it was a lengthy process, Cavallari couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out.

To this day I thank my lucky stars that it all worked out. Honestly, it was like everything was aligned for me.”

Along with an interview, Cavallari gave a glimpse into some of her favorite rooms and the inspiration behind them in a nearly two-minute video published on YouTube Wednesday.

The businesswoman’s front doors open into the dining room, where she and her children regularly dine and serve the house’s guests.

“This is where my kids and I go for dinner or if I have friends coming over, we’ll definitely be here,” she explained to MyDomaine.

Cavallari noted that her current table setting includes glasses and napkin rings from her lifestyle brand, Uncommon James, which she says is “very special” to her.

Cavallari and her children spend most of their time in the home’s cozy living room, complete with upholstered ottomans, a large fireplace, floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the backyard, and built-in storage.

“My kids will plop down here and watch TV while I eat in the kitchen,” she said.

Cavallari ‘loves’ the living room because ‘it’s open so it always feels’ [her and her kids] are together.’

Next, Cavallari ventured into her gorgeous kitchen, complete with gold hardware accents, a hand-tiled mosaic backsplash, marble countertops, and glass-door cabinets that make finding dishes and cookware a breeze.

“Here we are in my kitchen, which I actually completely redecorated when I moved in. I just wanted it to have a really warm, homely feel to it and I really feel like we captured that,” the reality star explained.

“I just love her and I actually have a few pictures of her in my house,” she revealed.

Perfect for sleepovers, the room also has bunk beds — which Cavallari says her two sons are “obsessed with.”
